Care

 Polymer Clay Jewelry Care
  • You can keep your polymer clay jewelry looking brand new by storing them in a clean, dry area. Keep them away from other jewelry and sharp objects to avoid scratches.
  • Avoid using chemicals, solvents, perfume, jewelry cleaners, or any aerosol products near your jewelry.
  • In the case that it becomes dirty, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. You may also use a cotton ear swab dipped in acetone to wipe lightly on the surface of the jewelry--this does NOT apply to jewelry that is hand painted, have gold leaf, or is coated with varnish.
  • If your piece is varnished, hand painted, has gold leaf, or is glittered--use a baby wipe to gently clean the surface of the earring.
  • Each piece of clay jewelry is handmade and may have slight imperfections. No two pairs are identical and that makes each piece unique!
  • Polymer clay is extremely durable when baked properly. Each piece goes through a bend test to ensure its quality of each piece. When baked correctly your jewelry should be able to bend slightly without breaking.
Gold Plated Jewelry Care
  • Gold plating is a process where a layer of gold is placed to coat the surface of another metal. With the jewelry not being 100% solid gold, extra care should be given to maximize its life span.
  • Avoid using perfume or hairspray while wearing gold-plated jewelry.
  • If using lotion or creams, wait for them to dry before wearing your gold-plated jewelry.
  • Substances like oil, chlorine, perfumes, hairsprays, and nail polish remover may react with jewelry and cause it to fade.
  • Avoid wearing while working out, showering, or in the pool.
  • To clean your gold-plated jewelry gently rub the surface using a soft jewelry cloth to help restore its shine. One will be provided with any order that contains brass or gold-plated components.
  • To avoid scratches, store in a jewelry box or in a soft cloth jewelry bag. Avoid storing different metal jewelry together. Different metals will cause each other to fade and or turn colors.
Brass Jewelry/Components Care
  • Some jewelry may contain brass findings or components. This includes ear wires and jump rings.
  • If your jewelry piece contains brass, these items will not be hypoallergenic and will tarnish over time.
  • You can polish your brass components to help resist tarnishing for a short period of time but will need to be maintained to keep up their original look. All metals will tarnish over time.
  • Don’t let your brass jewelry get wet. Perfume and lotion, handwashing, and sweating can all spell destruction when it comes to your brass jewelry. The moisture in the air even causes the brass metal to oxidize. If your brass jewelry does get wet, dry it thoroughly as soon as possible.
  • Air and moisture is the leading cause of tarnishing. When storing your brass jewelry, keep away from humid areas. You can purchase anti-tarnish jewelry bags or strips to help minimize tarnishing.
  • We will provide a soft polishing cloth you can use with each order that contains a brass finding or component.
